Another dayin the Neighbor hood.

What a day. Woke up at 2 and already felt the day was gonna be good.
Gonna have to get back to writing here more. Haven't been here for a few days. All my followers have probably moved on.
So here we are, what to write.
Could go to politics, but a lot of people (I included) have preconceived notions of what is the truth and what is a lie. I thing most of the talk shows should have a disclaimer before, during, and after they run. Some like "This show is purely opinion. Any relevance to the truth is purely coincidental". What do you think Rush would say to that?  That he has followers ready to take up arms/Bombs to kill people, kinda makes me wonder what kind of kool-aid he is serving.
Could write about the mother-in-law.  She has moved in down here, and things couldn't have gotten more different.  My wife and I live with 3 cats and a dog and are not used to having people around so much. At least people that need hearing aids and don't think they have a problem.  Everything is 3 times louder than it needs to be.  I don't need an aid for around the house any more.  So I guess, she cured me of my hearing loss at the house. She also knows when the animals need to go out. Whenever they walk toward the door, any door, they need to go out. They could've just came in a minute earlier, but that doesn't mean anything.
But I guess I'll just not write about anything for now.

I will try for more later.

for now, be nice and happy.

Republicans are for LESS GOVERNMENT INTRUSION in our lives!!Updated at 9:25 PM
They are in an uproar that the government might LIMIT THEIR FREEDOMS!!

They are furious that the government thinks it can RUN THEIR LIVES!!

They are up in arms about the government intrusion into our PRIVATE LIVES!!

How dare the government think it knows better than WE do what's best for US?!!

Well, except for medical decisions about life and death. Families shouldn't be able to decide these things. Congress needs to come back from vacations when it comes to cases like Terry Schiavo's to make these decisions, because they know best.

And except for things that things they need to protect us from, like marijuana. Their job is to make sure we can't make decisions like that for ourselves.

And except for sex. The government knows better than we do what kind of sex we should have and with whom -- otherwise, consenting adults could do all sorts of things the government knows shouldn't be done.

And exchanges of sex and money. Again, who knows best -- two consenting adults, or the government? Why, the government, of course!

And women's uteruses. Where would this country be if women had control of their own bodies? These are decisions for the government to make.

And we must elect more Republicans to make sure the government supports freedom of religion for all Christian conservatives, including their freedom to discriminate against other religions.

And a few other things -- freedom to slander, freedom to commit war crimes, freedom to threaten the president, freedom to carry assault weapons on playgrounds, freedom to stalk 9/11 widows, murder doctors, bomb clinics, use "second amendment remedies," etc. -- but other than that, Republicans are the party against government intrusion into our private lives!!

So vote Republican or suffer the Democratic big-government intruders who want to FORCE you to pay for socialized fire departments, socialized police forces, socialized military forces, socialized schools, even socialized government-run government, against your will!! Where will they stop?!?

Another Day Here.

Well here it is, Tuesday. What will come to me today?

Well I got on Face book to check my status and all the feeds from Mafia Wars were not being posted. Now I know for most of the people my age and probably you too, that they would have no problem with this. However, I do have a problem with this. You see, I've become addicted to mafia wars. Been on it too much at a time. Need to cut it back to about a hour or two per day. Well today I went and signed off for the day. That's right, Cold Turkey. Not to be confused with the chicken in the fridge. If it is still chicken and has not evolved into something meaner. Of course what could be meaner than a dead chicken? Laying apart wrapped in foil? How about millions of people who don't get their daily fix of Mafia Wars? Yep, sure would hate to be the one who caused that problem.

The lawn needs to be cut. Been able to cut it every week when I was working day jobs. Now on the night shift, I'll let it grow a couple of weeks. Before I cut it that is. It can grow all it wants. After Katrina, the neighbors don't care too much about the high grass. As long as trash is not being thrown in it. One of my neighbors didn't rebuild. I still cut their grass when I cut mine. It keeps the snakes down. It also keeps the Code Inspectors happy. Now there's the job. Vehicle, paperwork, and you get paid too. It just keeps getting better.

Thought about getting different job. At my age, finding enjoyable work is like pulling hens teeth. If you don't get the first one, you're not getting any more.

Do a lot of thinking. That's what people my generation do. We could sit all day and think, think, think. Doesn't do much good though, grass keeps growing, and I still need to cut it. Got me a rider now. It's a lot easier to ride and cut, than walk and cut. It's a lot easier to put it off until next weekend. I'll probably hit it with the weed eater tomorrow, if I can find the garage.

Then again, maybe I'll just read blogs and think the rest of the day. The grass will still be there tomorrow.

Later

Another Day in Time

Started typing the title and thought of the Dr Who series. Wondering when they will start it up over here again. It was so good with the older doctors. Now that it's getting revised, it takes some getting used to.

Got laundry going today. Remembering the times I helped my mom do it. Hanging them on the line in the back yard. They always smelled so good. Now a days we jut throw a dryer sheet in and try to get the same freshness. It's not the same.

Big oil spill out in the gulf. Not at our beaches yet. Lots of dead turtles and jelly fish. The jelly fish I don't mind so much. The turtles, so sad...they had so much  to live for.

Nice day today. The clouds are light, so it looks like a good day to lay out. Get caught up on my magazine reading. We order 5 or 6 magazines and if I don't make the time for them they won't get read. Been giving them to the neighbor when I finish. He takes/sends them to Afghanistan for his company to read. They seem to enjoy them. They keep taking them.

Well gonna stop now while I still got ideas in my head for tomorrow. Just hope I don't have a senior moment and let them out.

  Until I write again,
  play nice.

Another Day in Paradise

Today is starting out pretty good. Not a lot to write about.

Got to doing some things around the house. Saw the county car stopping across the street and thought they were looking for yard violations. Yep we live in a town where they can tell you when you need to mow your jungle. Not that I ever let mine go for too long. Figure if you can get to your car, then the yards not too high. I was able to get all the way to the garage and found my mower. Proceeded to get the front yard mowed. Don't look too bad now. Looks like someone may live here.

Got tired of their letters for vehicles needing tags. My van don't look the greatest, an 83, in the prime of its life. Put an antique tag on it instead of the retiree tag, so now I don't have to worry about that one. They complained before and I'd spend 20 to 30 dollars every year for that tag. Now I got a 50 dollar tag that's good for life. I was working on an old pickup. A 500 dollar special. Was debating whether to keep it or part it out. don't really need a pickup and it's one more thing for the neighbors to bit@ch about. Put it in the garage so I wouldn't have problems with them.

Kinda quiet around the house today. Put the cat food in the garage where the cats can get it and the dog can't. Haven't been letting the cats in and out of the house all day. They would come in, eat, sleep some or fight the others and then want back out. Probably could have gotten a pet door. This works just as well and I don't have another door to worry about.

Time to wrap this up. No, I'm not going to use the weed-eater.  I can still find the van. The county man left a letter with the neighbors. They have to do their job. My tax dollars at work.

Well, tell everyone I said Howdy Do.

Play nice

Third times the Charm

Didn't have to work tonight. Wanted to get things done and ended up sleeping the day away.
I think this schedule will take some getting used to. Normally I have to be at work at 9 PM and get off in the morning around 4. Didn't get to sleep until 6 this morning. Pretty much dragging all day.  Not used to working nights.
Not used to working. Haven't had a real job since I retired from the service in 93, Times sure have changed. Working with kids half my age, and they don't seem to care if the job gets done on time or not. They think that punching the clock should be enough.
Got spoiled being in the service. The people I worked with then, wanted to do the job right the first time and then go home. We didn't get paid by the hour. Of course we did get a salary that we could live on.
Still haven't figured out how far I want to go with this job. Should I work a full 8 hrs a day and get nothing done at home or with the wife, or continue on as part time?  This started off as a temporary job, helping out during the spring rush. Temp meant from 8PM till 12 midnight. Then they changed it to 9pm till 1am. Then changed again 9pm till we got the work done. Don't know how long I can keep this up.
I guess as long as it takes.

As always..
Play nice

One More Day

Day two of this thing. Day one went better than I thought. Not one bad comment. I'm pretty pleased with myself, if I may say so. Of course it would have been nice to have had a comment.
Oh well,life goes on.

I'd had planned to have a whole lot to write today, this being the second unloading of my vast storage of knowledge, but as I start, it is only slowly dribbling out. Perhaps because this is not a good time to write. perhaps I should be talking to my better half. Time goes too quick when you have to get stuff done.

I've got a lot of things to get done. Probably too many to list here. That seems like a days writing by itself. Tomorrow I'll start my list here. Maybe then some will get done.

Sorry this doesn't make sense. Too much other stuff going on to write more now.
I'll be back tomorrow "earlier"!!

Until then,
play nice.

First Blog Post

This is the first of many more.
As I spent most of my day setting this up, this will not be long.
Saw another blog, unnamed, and decided that I could write also. His is very good and brings back memories of a simpler time. I hope to get that way as well.
I will also post some political diatribes but will not let them become the sole focus. I just want to reach out and let the world know I am here and my musings will have their 15 minutes of fame and will somewhere be archived for generations to come.
For those future readers generations from now "Hello and I'm sorry that I missed you"

Well, time to see if this blog thing will post or if I will havve to do this all over again.
Until later, play nice.
