Catching Up On Loose Ends

Merry Christmas to All.
Happy New Year to All also.
Happy Chanukah.

There, I think that about covers me for the rest of the year. It's definitely been a year.

We (the wife) have finally gotten a handle on the mother in laws health care. The VA has done an outstanding job with her. Every time we send her in, she keeps coming back. It's not yet her time. There is still something left for her to do.

The wife is still hanging in there. It's been a difficult road for her. She misses being with the relatives during the holidays. I think she misses being with them other times.

As for me, I am taking some time off. Not going anywhere. Not planning anything. Long time coming.

Be good to get back to work next year.

Hope Everyone had a good last year and wish them the Best for their coming New Year.
of course I wish you the best for for rest of this year also.

So, until we meet again. Same bat channel, same bat time.
Be careful over the weekend. Lots of drunks, and older folk will be out on the streets. And you now how them older folk get.

Happy Thanksgiving.

And it came upon us, once again. We have lived to see another Thanksgiving. For that alone, we should give Thanks.
I want to thank everyone who has helped me in this endeavor called, My Life. I know that there are too many to list, so I'll just say, You know who you are,  I won't forget you.
We are going to have a simple Thanksgiving. Not doing anything extravagant. Have a cousin coming in with all the fixin's for the meal. Had a neighbor bring us 2 pies this morning that his mom had made. Pumpkin and Pecan. An hour later, they sent over some dressing. (just brown it in the oven). They are good neighbors.
I've been kinda busy here, work, sleep, work again.
Planted a tree. Got me a Tangerine tree. With some sun and water, I should have some tangerines in a few years. It's only about 4 feet tall, but it has big dreams.
Didn't get the pool cover on. I've been trying to sweep the leaves off the top before they sink, but I missed a bunch of them. The water is cold and I 'm waiting on another hot day to get the leaves off the bottom. Running the salt/chlorine generator and the water is good to swim in. It won't be the first year we didn't get the cover on.
Well, gotta go for now. Will try not to go so long between posts.

Again, Happy Thanksgiving.
Bobby

ps. The lazy farmer has another cut from the cowboy. Don't want to miss it.  http://thedailystrumpet.blogspot.com/2011/11/happy-thanksgiving.html

Here's The Musing Parts

Well it's that time again. Time to sit at the keyboard and try to see what I can come up with.
Read somewhere that Israel traded about a thousand of prisoners for just one soldier. He must have been a pretty special soldier to be worth so much. Or are the prisoners just not worth that much at all. So now the ex-prisoners can renew their vows to their cause. Let the killing begin.
Went to the garage a looked over my old Pontiac. It a 1970 GTO Judge convertible. It went thru the Katrina Flood and some how is going to get put back together. It was in a garage before the hurricane and when then garage went it carried the roof for awhile. It needs a total restoration. If it weren't so rare, I'd just buy something else and be happy. I started tearing it apart after I got it in it's new garage. Spraying everywhere I could get to with rust preventative. I've got it almost torn down. Still have to get the interior out. Got me a welder lined up, don't know really how good he is, but he has welded exhaust pipe for me that hasn't fallen off.
Mother in law got back from the hospital today. Clean bill of health. Except for the illness. And the personality. At least everything is new for her. I just wish she had better shorter memory. It puts a strain on the wife seeing her mother like this. Being a 24 hour a day caregiver. Going day by day, one step closer to not being known.
My mother had Alzheimer's. Nothing is so hard as seeing her and her not knowing who I was.
Well, time to go.
Will write more later.
